It’s retro, it’s eccentric, and it’s just plain different. Not to mention rare, even in the markets where it was originally sold. Personally, I don’t often care for micro or “cute” cars, but I freaking love this thing. Am I alone here? Is it Jalop or not?

It's pretty Jalop, but not as Jalop as this.

Kinja'd!!!

Particularly not if you rotary-swapped this.

Maybe not in that color. But yes. And this would annoy everyone around me, but every time I got it would sing "FEEEGARO, FEEEGARO, FEEEEEEEEGAROOOOO!"

Dang, what is that? I'm not terribly familiar with the micro-truck market.

I love the Figaro. MCM approves. If only it came with something other than a 3 speed autotragic...

Quality zing, there.

My brother is a fellow barefooter, though, and you should have seen the looks that people were giving him when we were out at the USGP. I'm sure you're familiar with the astonishment that people display when they see someone casually hanging out barefoot in public, but it's really hilarious for a third-party to see.

I do rather like them. They do retro better than pretty much anything else I know. The interior especially is perfect.

I'm not sure I'd drive one though. Not really my style. I have test driven one for an aunt though. Steering's got more feel in it than your usual econobox, and the auto box is functional. Nothing impressive, but nothing terribly irritating either. It's got the same feel as a little rattle-box that you can fling around places and hoon around, despite not going very fast.

I would DD that thing. Except if it snowed. Then I would have a sweater for it.

See, they're not even that rare in London. I've seen probably 5 in one day. I guess they're a fashion statement around here. I'd toally rock one though.

Indeed I do know that feel, bro. But the looks/judgments phase me anymore. People who know me aren't surprised by it, and strangers really don't matter in the grand scheme of things.

Glad to know there are other barefooters out there, though. I hope people don't give your brother a hard time about it.

These things do retro really, really well. The interior especially.

Saying that, I don't think I could rock one. Over here they're usually driven by the same people who drive new Beetles and PT Cruisers.

I have test driven one though. Very rattle-box old hatchback feel. It's excellent. Steering's good too, and the auto box isn't particularly dull-witted. Really not bad.

Nope, generally just shock/surprise, and he's so completely nonplussed with other people that it wouldn't bother him if they did.

Then again, he lives in Austin; his bare feet are pretty tame by comparison to much of the surroundings.

I totally would drive one of these, there was a year when I saw them randomly.

I saw one parked briefly at high school, they stand out. I took a close look at that one, and found the word "Figaro" written on there, I searched "Figaro car" on Google later that day, and found out it was made by Nissan.
